AI expert exchange at the CyberForum e.V.

How can artificial intelligence be used to counter the consequences of climate change? Under the title "Intelligent assistance system for forest management in climate change", Dr Thomas Freudenmann, Co-CEO and co-founder of EDI GmbH, will give a talk on this topic at the next AI expert exchange at the Cyberforum in Karlsruhe. As part of his talk, Dr Freudenmann will present the EDE 4.0 research project. EDE 4.0 is a cloud-based and artificial intelligence-based decision support system for foresters. By combining the knowledge of forestry experts, the latest climate models, and local and global forestry data, the project will provide dynamic decision support for the planting and logging of different tree species. Artificial intelligence and foresters on the ground in the forest work hand in hand with EDE 4.0.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 15 February 2023, from 15:00 - 17:00 in room Church, entrance B, CyberForum, Haid-und-Neu-Straße 18 in 76131 Karlsruhe. Entrance B is located on the left side of the so-called "Hoepfner Burg".  From the actual entrance (entrance A), please turn left and walk around the building.
